Tropical Storm FAY not so good for the BAY!!

51 homes damaged, 9 uninhabitable and 3 people injured. (minor injuries) Many homes wiped out on Bird Drive.

I have not been out in the storm and it is NOT over. We just received another tornado warning (4:40 pm 8.19.08) so I will get around after this is all over. Expected to linger through Wed.

Areas of damaged homes: Brown, Egret, Puffin, Cashew, Bird, Waterway, Wren.

Life in Barefoot Bay has moved on and the people have rebuilt, bought new or have done major improvements to their homes. We want to show the Bay as it is and not as it WAS!

The Barefoot Peddler is the home of the Micco Post Office. They were located right here in Barefoot Bay next to the water department. As of July 1st they are in a NEW LOCATION. Right in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza on the corner as you enter from Barefoot Blvd. They have more parking and it is really much easier to access. Dawn Hawkins the owner is the most pleasant person you can find around. Introduce yourself and tell her the CAPTAIN and DONNA  sent you, she will be very happy to see you. Remember, if you need postal services she has them right there for you the "Micco" sub-station post office is located in her gift shop. Need shipping services she has DHL and we have found them to be better than UPS, visit her and try it out you won't be sorry.
