| Well, it's been 4 days since I wrote anything here! I didn't take any pictures on Wed., Thurs. or Fri. but I was there. I had the cancer spot removed from my nose on Wednesday (5-07-03). Nothing to it and sure glad it's all over, also happy the evening hours will be starting on Thursday (5-15-03) so I don't have to be in the real strong sun anymore. I did swim in the morning for a short time, no picture but got to say goodbye to a few more who were leaving to go back north. (5-08-03) Thursday, is the exercise class so I didn't get there until around 10:30, they were just finishing up so I was let in :). By the time I got done chatting with people I didn't get into the pool until almost 11am !! I water is staying warmer these days because the night time temperatures are not going below 70 right now. I should think the heater will soon be turned off. No pictures, some more goodbye's. (5-09-03) Friday, I was there in the morning about 9:45 am very busy when I first got there and by 10:30 it was about empty! Still as beautiful as ever. (5-10-03) Today, Kay was there and I hadn't seen her in some time. She is a regular at pool two and come to get her exercise. I just am not always there when she is so hadn't been able to get her picture until today. | Kay is originally from NY is a year round resident here in the Bay. (5-10-03) | Thought you might like to see what she looks like without the hat and glasses! I have met people in Winn-Dixie and unless they are in their bathing suits I DON'T recognize them! (5-10-03) | Just another angle to help you recognize Kay, Introduce yourself if you haven't yet she is a great lady to talk to. (5-10-03) | (5-11-03) Mother's Day...I got there a little later today and stayed later. By the time I left it was HOT almost 91. The water temperature was 84 and of course it was beautiful. Sunny, and HOT and quiet with so many having gone home. Check out the FORUM for a message from Jan...she arrived home safe. | Blanche enjoying the sun. She is what I call a real sun worshiper. (5-11-03) | You will find Blanche at the pool most everyday all year long. Always cheery and smiling. (5-11-03)
| Met Jeri, she is a fairly new resident here. Moved here in Feb. she works 3 jobs so Sunday's is her day to get some sun. Introduce yourself if you see her laying around in the sun, very pleasant to talk to. She is originally from VA.(5-11-03)
| Another pleasant lady I met today. Pat is originally from PA and celebrating her Mother's Day here at pool two. She's been here about 2 years so if you haven't met her yet introduce yourself. She is very easy to talk to. (5-11-03)
| Now, here is Lucy, she is just so bubbly and cheerful all the time. I haven't seen her in a while she has been busy moving around the Bay. I you haven't met Lucy you are missing out on some positive conversation. (5-11-03) | This is one with the glasses the way she usually looks in the pool. Just had to get on both ways so we could recognize her without them. (5-11-03)
| Now, isn't this a surprise! Helmi. I was thrilled to see her. For those of you that don't know Helmi she was an Olympic swimmer and has taught many here in the Bay to swim. (5-11-03) | Helmi is in a nursing home recovering from some problems and is out today with her son for Mother's Day. (5-11-03) | Here she is with her family, her son Ken on the right, his wife Nancy and their son Dustin. (5-11-03) | Many of you probably remember Dustin. Helmi use to bring him swimming at pool two. He was a lot smaller the last time I saw him. He has shot up for sure.(5-11-03) | Helmi and her son Ken enjoying being together for Mother's Day at pool two. Thanks Ken for sharing your mother with us today.(5-11-03) | Wow, I think this is a great picture, a real Mother's Day site to enjoy. Mother and Son!(5-11-03) | Ken with his sunglasses here now he can't come incognito because we will recognize him. (5-11-03) | What a pleasant day, I couldn't have spent my Mother's Day morning any better than with such great people enjoying the same thing. My husband took me out to celebrate Mother's Day, yesterday, so we could miss the crowds. I don't like to go out to eat ON Mother's Day because it is just too busy and I DON'T wait well LOL LOL...Well, Beverly, Jan, Lucille, Sylvia and several others said that "Jack Baker's Lobster House Shanty" was a great restaurant. Beverly gave me directions on just how to get there so that is where we went yesterday. I was told to ask for the PORCH and NOT to miss the park across the street, well, we got the porch and we did go to the park across the street! Wow, were we impressed with BOTH. The food, service, atmosphere, everything was just perfect at the restaurant. We even saw the Dolphins swimming around. The park is definitely a DO NOT miss added feature. Handicapped accessible so I was able to go right down to the dock as well. It is a place we will go back to and bring family and friends to as well. Thanks everyone for sharing your great experience there with me it made my Mother's Day one of the best for me. Well, I hope you all had a WONDERFUL day today and look to see you at pool two another day. That's it for today... Bye for now... Donna pool 2 5/11/03 |
