Meet Millie, if you see her be sure to introduce yourself. Great lady to talk to. 4/11/04

Just in case she has her glasses on, you will know what she looks like.

Very positive and energetic lady. Walks everyday and is such an inspiration to not only myself but many others.
I was at the pool last night 4-22-04 and it was beautiful. The water temp was 86 and the winds had died down. It has been so windy I haven't gone. One night I went and the winds felt so cold all I did was talk to Bill and go home. It was just Gordon, myself and another gentleman that I didn't get his name. He comes for NJ and if I see him again I will get a picture and his name. I didn't even have my camera last night. The evening hours have been great for me but not many people come to the pool during that time! Maybe it is just NOT warm enough yet. This winter has been much cooler than normal and WINDY! If it weren't for the wind I could swim but when you get out is feels too cold! Can you believe that? TOO COLD, in FLORIDA! LOL LOL.

That's it for now

I find it so hard to believe that I haven't posted anything here since 4/23/04! Wow, we get busy with life and forget something. Not going to the pool for so long takes it toll on me. I really need the exercise. The storms in the early evening and being so tired have kept me from swimming. Well, I am back, going around 9 am before the STORMS (smile).
Watch for more pool pictures to come.

REMEMBER MOIRA...

It is with a very sad heart that I post this message. Many of you know our mutual friend Moira Miller!  She was the lady with the English accent who was always very upbeat and happy.  Moira was a very special lady to me and I feel blessed that she touched my life.

I met Moira when she started coming to pool two with her husband David, many of you may remember David. They were both very sociable and enjoyed visiting with everyone at pool two. Then Moira and David didn’t come any more! She had a bad reaction to a medication she had been placed on and it caused her muscles in her legs to become so weak she could barely walk. David was ill and required more care than Moira was able to continue to give and her doctor recommended she have David placed somewhere to be cared for as he felt she was not well enough to do so anymore. She started to come back to pool two to walk and try to build up her muscles in her legs and was so happy when it started to work. She started to gain some of the weight back that she lost, and was feeling so much better.

She was a nurse for many years and really loved her profession, always willing to share her vast knowledge with others. She came from up-state NY and was very proud of her hometown and shared her many memories with many of us. She loved to talk about her boys; Timmy and Danny, many of you may have met Danny when he was here. (See picture). She talked about her twin granddaughters (see picture on brag page) and just loved life in general.  She was just a joy to be with and around.

Moira never complained and was always very positive, had great faith and was an avid reader! She was one of the most interesting people I have known in my life and I loved her dearly.

She recently went to Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY to have a special procedure done. The procedure was new and hadn’t been done here before but had been done over 1500 times at the Albany Medical Center so she decided to go where they knew this procedure. She was very organized and being a nurse for so many years she did her research and made the best decision for herself. They placed a stent in her carotid artery, which gave her back 100% blood flow to her brain; she was thrilled about the outcome and had plans to start traveling.

Life has now gone by for Moira, she passed away, I believe it was the 20th of this month, she died in her sleep peacefully and is now only with us in our memories. I will not forget Moira Miller as she touched my heart deeply.

My condolences go out to her sons Timmy and Danny and to her husband David as well as the rest of her family. She is pictured here and will stay here so everyone can remember the good times with Moira.

This was the obituary published in the Albany Times on 8/2/04.
